Rainbow Recovery offers recovery services for women and women with children. Rainbow has a sober living program designed specifically for women in recovery from alcohol and drug addiction. The group residence is the cornerstone of the program – providing a safe, caring, and stable environment meant to restore hope, responsibility, and belief in one’s own competence. This foundation in turn enables clients to maximally benefit from other program services that teach the parenting and life skills needed to maintain sober and independent lives.

Rainbow provides a range of teaching, training, and therapeutic services, with support groups, individual psychotherapy, family therapy and alcohol and drug counseling. In addition, nutrition counseling and weight loss support is available.

Program elements are selected in collaboration with the client and tailored to their individual needs. Specific services including vocational and stress counseling are available for women who are pregnant, reestablishing contact with their children, or extricating themselves from violent domestic circumstances.

In providing services for women, Rainbow works closely with a variety of social service government agencies including Drug Treatment Court, Dependency Drug Treatment Court, SACPA, Social Services, and the Adult Managed Care system of Santa Clara County. The program offers private pay Sober Living Home programs, County-subsidized Transitional Housing Units (THU), and links clients with education, housing and mental health services as needed.

The Rainbow homes are attractive, spacious and fully equipped, located in desirable residential neighborhoods with access to shopping and public transportation. Our staff is comprised of highly trained and compassionate professionals experienced in the recovery process.

Nancy Wilson, Executive Director and Founder of Rainbow Recovery Foundation, Inc.

"The idea is to rescue myself from the role of a victim. That I have a choice left. Though I can't change what has happened, I can choose how to react. And I don't want to spend the rest of my life being bitter and locked up."

-Tori Amos
